Exterior Alterations (including Tree Removal)
Improvements to our properties almost always requires that the homeowner follow the Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&R) and the Architectural Design Guidelines. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is charged with reviewing and maintaining these standards. Ignoring these guidelines or assuming something won't be noticed after completion could be problematic.
Both the CC&R document and the ARC application can be accessed from our POA's Portal using the following link (or by copying the link below and pasting it into your browser's address bar):
Some of the more common property modifications are listed below for your convenience:
- Trees: Tree trimming does not require prior approval or permission. The removal of pine trees and any trees less than five (5) inches in diameter do not require prior approval. All other trees require prior approval for removal.
- Painting: All exterior painting requires prior approval. A paint sample or the manufacturer and color name should be included on the Exterior Application Form.
- Roofing: All roofing beyond simple repairs requires prior approval.
- Landscaping: Major alterations require a sketch or drawing and prior approval. Typical examples that require prior approval include changes to drives or walkways and additions or modifications to decks and patios.
- Drainage: Drainage should be discussed and/or planned with a qualified professional. RCPOA personnel can only render an opinion and will not approve or disapprove.
As always, if you have any questions, please call or email the RCPOA office.
