Why do we use a property management company?

In March of 2016, the POA officially contracted a professional management company to handle the accounting and property responsibilities for the neighborhood. The motivation and thought process behind this decision are summarized succinctly by our POA President (Steve Novak):

After a thorough analysis of how our peer POA's in the area were managing their affairs, what their cost was, and who they were using it became apparent to me that we could hire a professional POA management company to do the same thing that our part time, resident administrators were doing at the same cost. Using a professional management company also provides continuity which is very important, as in the past we have had resident administrators abruptly quit, leaving the POA in a bind. It seems to me this was the responsible choice to make and in the best interests of the POA.
